2007 Prices

The Clubhouse: The Club has a very modern clubhouse opened officially in 1975. There are spacious locker rooms for both ladies and men, extended in the 1999 to accommodate the increase in visitors and members alike. During these renovations the shower facilities were also improved and a shop/office added, which now serves as the starters base, and is also where a great deal of the day to day running of the club is done. The clubhouse also contains a large bar lounge, television lounge, and a dining room, which serves a very high quality of food at more than reasonable prices.

Main Bar Lounge: The main lounge is where most of the social gathering within the club occurs. There is a well stocked bar, with very competitive prices, and also a variety of meals available from a bar menu. The lounge has a friendly atmosphere, and a great view looking out over the 18th green. As with anywhere within the club there is a reasonable standard of dress required for people to spend time in the main lounge.

The Dining Room: The dining room has a very good menu of all the sorts of meals that people want after a round. The food is of good quality and the portions generous. Having a meal there is an ideal way to finish off a good day of golf. It is big enough to accommodate reasonably large groups, but you have to book ahead to guarantee a table at the height of season.

The TV Lounge: The TV lounge is just an extension to the main lounge, although it is possible to divide the two, and both can be served from the same bar. This room also serves as a meeting room for the club committee. The same standard of dress is expected in this room as it is essentially an extension of the main lounge. The TV room has the same view over the 18th green as the main lounge.

Locker Rooms: Both gents and ladies locker rooms were refurbished early 2006 with locker available for member and visitors. Below is a picture of the new gents locker room.

Warm Up Facilities: The Club has two putting greens available to all players before their round. One of these was recently relaid by the superb green staff in a successful effort to make the practice greens as close to those on the course as possible. There is also a pitching range with flags at various distances to help players find their touch before they head out on their round. At the rear of the clubhouse there are two practice nets ( not in picture ), although if you want practice longer shots there is a huge practice ground five minutes walk from the clubhouse, adjacent to the 14th fairway.

Directions: To get to Southerness from Glasgow, you take the A74 South from Glasgow as far as either Moffat or Lockerbie, then follow signs for Dumfries. From there you take the A710, heading for New Abbey. You go on through New Abbey, staying on the same road until you see signs for Southerness. Follow the signs which will be on your left, and head down onto the coastal plain away from Criffel, which will now be behind you.Stay on that road until the golf course comes up on your RIGHT.
